Review: Masquerade

masqueradeMasquerade by Kylie Fornasier

My rating: N/A

Source: eARC courtesy of publisher

I must confess that I don’t have any good reasons to DNF this besides the fact that I was in my grumpiest mood and this couldn’t dislodge me from my hormonal turmoil. Now, I couldn’t even look at it 😦

I was tempted by the mystery of Masquerade, the glamour, and my goodness, it’s also in Venice! The appeal of this book was tremendous. The beginning was promising with the mystery of the background of one of the main characters, Orelia, and it was set, right at the start, the strength of her character. She is definitely a heroine to be appreciated. I also loved the spunkiness of Veronica though Angelique, I just wanted shake to no end. There are many other characters which drew you to this story –one with many threads woven into what promises to be a colourful tapestry.

I am refraining from rating this book as I only managed to read about 65% of it but I just needed to clarify my position with the ‘lost-interest’ tag I’ve put this book on. Again, through no fault of the story / author but my own mood (give this lady a break –I’m about to give birth in a few weeks!). One day, I may attempt this read one more time.

Thank you, Penguin Books Australia for copy of eARC via NetGalley and my apologies for piking out.
