Wacky Wednesday

It has been such a grey, wet, chilly and dready day that I even skimp on a visit to the library!  Not that I needed extra books or anything since I’m pretty much got lots lined up for the next 3 months!  Reading with Style (Summer Challenge) has officially started and am being challenged evermore to read ‘higher lit’ stuff!! What’s on the line this season for me:

*A Suitable Boy by Vikram Seth (let’s see if I can actually get it read in 3 months!  It’s just under 1,500 pages and the font is absolutely tiny!  I may need my eyes check at the end of it. I’m on page 21, at the moment, LOL)

*Doctor Zhivago by Boris Pasternak

*Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood

*The Marriage Plot by Jeffrey Euginedes

*Bleak House by Charles Dickens

Etc… (I’ve barely scratched the surface here)  There are a total of 30 books to be read within 3 months to complete the challenge.  I do usually complete it but…  I’m challenging myself to read even thicker and harder books this time around.  What am I getting myself into!?!?

For today, to make up for missing our library visit, we made some cookies **yum!** and by the way, I’m a Bushell’s gal 😉

Yeah, maybe a bit too ambitious. LOL, I always do that! Let’s hope I’ll finishe at least 1, I’ll be happy with that.

Wow, that’s a serious challenge there–A Suitable Boy is a whopper! I still haven’t read any Pasternak or Eugenides, but I did see the latter speak here a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. I shall have to seek out the Marriage Plot 🙂
